I emerge from every process changed. Who or what speaks in me ? Creation of the face. Different faces are the multiplication of my stage in seconds of my self. The real is thinking as a body, as a phantasm of all masks of experience. And the intimacy of this private place awakens my sensations and fades in inner scenes and reflections that leave little room for deception. These are the moments of my figure. Experiences of a mask where love comes closer.

"COLOURED SHADOWS"

De beelden die in de schilderijen van Lotte Vanhamel zichtbaar worden gemaakt hebben altijd bestaan. Ze zijn in ons aanwezig. En evenzeer maken ze deel uit van het diepste en wezenlijkste van de aarde. Lotte bezit de gave ze op te roepen en ze in kleur en vorm te materialiseren. In dat proces gaan de beelden voorbij aan de afbeelding: de kleur en de vorm vallen samen met wat tot dan verborgen bleef. Naast de schilderijen toont Lotte kleiner werk. Het is gekenmerkt door geometrie en stralende kleur, schijnbaar in contrast met de schilderijen, maar geput uit dezelfde bron. Het raakt aan een geestelijke abstractie terwijl het vitaal en sensueel blijft, vlakbij onze zichtbare wereld.

The images made visible in Lotte Vanhamel’s paintings have always existed. They are present within us. Yet they also belong to the quintessential depths of the earth. Lotte is gifted in evoking these images and materialising them in colour and form. Through this process, they transcend representation: the colours and forms coincide with what had previously been hidden. In addition to the paintings, Lotte also shows smaller work. It is characterised by geometry and radiant colour, seemingly in contrast to the paintings, but drawn from the same source. It touches on a spiritual abstraction while remaining vital and sensual, close to our visible world.
